ITS Digital Signage Service and Support

From Swarthmore Knowledge Base

What We Support:

Our goal is to help you get the most out of Swarthmore’s digital signage system using Reach Media Network players. We’re here to support clear communication across campus by making sure signs are working smoothly and set up properly.

Here’s what we can help with:

Getting Started and Setup:

  • Helping name and prepare new devices (includes installing required security software)
  • Making sure the device can connect to the network
  • Working with our Network team to assign a static IP address and get the device added to our systems
  • Advising on installation, especially if the sign needs to be mounted high (we’ll talk through options like using ladders or alternative setups if needed)

Training:

Need training on how to manage your digital signs?

Reach Support is ready to help you get started or answer more advanced questions. Sign managers can schedule training directly with Reach Support. These sessions are a great way to get comfortable with the system and make sure you have the tools and knowledge you need.

To book a session:

  • Call (833) 34REACH, or
  • Log in to Reach and click the Support icon in the lower-left corner.

Support for Existing Signs:

Having issues with your sign?  See our troubleshooting guide

  1. Who should I contact for help with Reach digital signage?
  • If you're having trouble with the Reach system, the best place to start is with their support team.  They know the software inside and out. You can reach them by calling (833) 34REACH or by logging into Reach and clicking the Support icon in the lower-left corner.
  • For most software-related questions or smaller issues, Reach support is the quickest and most helpful option.
  1. Need help with a digital signage issue that goes beyond Reach support?
  • If you’ve already contacted Reach or if the issue seems more complex — especially if it might involve Swarthmore systems or decisions — please email digital-signage@swarthmore.edu.
  • Your message will automatically create a support ticket with ITS and alert a small team of Swarthmore staff who can help troubleshoot or route your request to the right person.

You might email this address if:

  • Reach support suspects a network or connectivity issue on campus
  • You're unsure if a display is malfunctioning or needs replacement
  • You want to update signage elements that involve both Reach and Swarthmore branding (e.g., adding a new dietary symbol)
  • You're planning to install a new digital sign and want guidance

For non-Reach signs:

We are not accepting requests to move existing signs into the Reach system at this time
