10.1 Access the PhotoShelter Digital Image Library

You do not need to source your own photos. Swarthmore's PhotoShelter digital image library contains thousands of photos that may be used on College websites.

If you have questions about PhotoShelter, contact web-update@swarthmore.edu.

  1. Go to swarthmore.photoshelter.com.
  2. Click Login in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select College Login.
  4. Sign in using your Swarthmore network credentials.
  5. Click Galleries in the upper-left corner.
  6. Select Invited Galleries, then choose Swarthmore College.
  7. Browse the folders or use the search feature to locate photos.

10.2 Request a Photoshoot

If you need new photography for your website, you may request a photoshoot through the Communications Office. This service is intended for faculty and staff.

Please submit requests at least one week in advance and allow 3–5 business days for photo processing.

Photography Requests
Not all requests can be accommodated. Depending on scheduling and availability, photography may be completed by student photographers. To request a photoshoot, complete the Photoshoot Request Form.


10.3 SiteImprove Website Monitoring

Swarthmore College uses SiteImprove to monitor website quality. SiteImprove helps editors identify:

  • Broken links
  • Misspellings
  • Accessibility issues
  • Website analytics

If you are interested in participating in the SiteImprove pilot program, contact web-update@swarthmore.edu.

10.4 Request a Website Redesign

Website redesign services are provided by the Communications Office. The team works with departments to redesign websites that better meet their communication goals and improve the presentation of content.
