In some unusual cases, there may be a need to temporarily extend access for a Swarthmore account past a student’s graduation or an employee’s last day of work. ITS does not control account access except for guest accounts; instead contact the department listed below depending on the role of the person.
Student accounts
To extend the end date of a student account for academic purposes, such as post-graduation summer research, a professor should contact the Registrar’s Office with a request that justifies the need for an account extension along with an end date.
If a student will be working for Swarthmore post-graduation, contact HR to hire the student as an employee.
Faculty accounts
To extend faculty accounts, contact the Provost’s Office with a justification and requested end date.
Staff accounts
To extend the end date of a staff account past the time of their employment, the staff member’s supervisor should contact the Human Resources department with a justification and requested end date.
Guest accounts
Swarthmore guest accounts are used for non-college people that need access to college systems. Guest usernames end in -guest. For example: jdoe1-guest. To extend a guest account, the sponsor of the guest account should contact ITS with a new requested end date.
