Description

Gemini is Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool. The service is available as a web chatbot or mobile app.

Privacy

When logged in with your Swarthmore Google account, Google will not use your information to train their models. If you use Gemini with a personal account, Google may use your data for training purposes.

Access

The service is available as a chatbot at gemini.google.com.

There are Gemini apps for iOS and Android.

Data Retention

Gemini Chats are saved by Google for 3 months and then deleted. There is not an option to delete a chat manually or keep chats longer than 3 months. This is a limitation of the College’s Google Workspace account.

To preserve a chat longer than 3 months, copy and paste the content into a Google Doc or print the page to a PDF file.

Individual chat responses can also be exported to Gmail or a Google Doc. This will only include a single chat response, not the entire conversation. Look for the “share” icon at the bottom of a response.
