Requesting a Guest Account on Firebird: Difference between revisions

It is possible to request a sponsored guest account on Firebird, such as for an external collaborator. It is a two-step process:

A Swarthmore employee can request a sponsored guest account. To do this, you will need certain information, such as the external email address, phone number (for SSO access), and phone type (iOS or Android). The form also asks the purpose of the account (“Firebird HPC access”) and what resources are required (you can say that it needs to be an “AD account”). For the duration, you can enter whatever end date is needed, but you may have to explicitly renew the request annually.
Once the guest account is created, have the external user request a Firebird account, making sure to use the new credentials.
