The Link List pane type is used to highlight and link to various resources related to a site's content.
- Under the YOUR SITE - Site Administration dropdown, hover over Add new pane and select Link List to create a new pane.
- Provide a Title for the Link List.
- Choose the Link List Layout to display the pane in Vertical or Horizontal alignment. Note: See the screenshots below for examples of each display.
- Vertical display is the best option for lists containing over 4 links.
- Horizontal display is a good option for four or fewer links.
- Add links to the Link Listing area:
- Place cursor in an empty URL field
- If you're linking to a page within Drupal:
- Begin to type the title of the page.
- Select the desired page from the autocomplete suggestions.
- The Link text field will automatically populate based on the page title, but this can be altered.
- If you're linking to a document that's already been uploaded to Drupal:
- Click the blue Link to a document button to reveal the file browser.
- Use the file browser to locate and select the appropriate file.
- Click Insert file from the file browser toolbar.
- If you're linking to a document that has not yet been uploaded to Drupal:
- Click the blue Link to a document button to reveal the file browser.
- Click the Upload button from the file browser toolbar
- Click the Choose File button to browse your local system for the file, select it, and click the Upload button.
- Click Insert file from the file browser toolbar.
- If your link points to a resource outside of swarthmore.edu, paste the URL.
- If you're linking to a page within Drupal:
- Add or edit the Link text – the text that visitors will see as a clickable link.
- Add additional link fields by clicking the Add another item button.
- Remove unwanted links by clicking the Remove Link button located just below it.
- Place cursor in an empty URL field
- To place the newly created pane on your page:
- Click Arrange Panes.
- Click the little grey gear icon in the upper left-hand corner of the Additional Content region of your page, and then click Add content.
- Find and click on your newly created pane under Existing Site Panes > Link List Panes. You can now arrange the order of your panes by dragging and dropping the item.
- Click Save to save a draft of your page. You can set the Moderation state to Published if you would like to publish the pane to your page.
